Wearing Memories is the brainchild of Kiron Barui and is a distinctive jewellery range inspired by her love of Champagne. Wearing Memories jewellery pieces are designed to hold the ‘plaque de muselet’ (cap) from the top of a Champagne bottle. She has exhibited Wearing Memories at London fashion week for the last two years and this year saw her take the collection to Paris fashion week as well.
It was in London that Kiron was introduced to Royal Riviera Champagne and made invaluable connections that lead her to become their Australian importer and distributer.
The Spring polo held at Queens Park on Saturday was the perfect end to Toowoomba’s Carnival of Flowers and also was the perfect opportunity for Kiron to launch Royal Riviera Champagne. I was lucky enough to be part of the day in the Wearing Memories/ Royal Riviera marquee, and by the look of all the empty bottles, everyone loved it.
The distinctive turquoise blue, that reflects it’s Mediterranean home, stood out across the field. The Champagne flowed all day while we were entertained by the excitement of the polo and the galloping horses.
All the women were beautifully dressed and a lot of the male guests donned jaunty hats and got into the spirit of the event.
It was the first time that many of us had experienced the polo and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Thanks to the girls from The Event Group, for introducing us all to the sport of royals. They did an amazing job putting the day together with the main VIP tent, an eclectic group of private marquess and general admittance area all decorated to add to the ambiance of the day. I hope it will return next year and become a part of Toowoomba’s entertainment calendar.
