The Artwork You Keep Thinking About

Have you ever walked away from an artwork, only to find yourself thinking about it days later?

Perhaps it was the colour that caught your eye first. Or the texture, the story, the way it made you feel. You went home, got on with your day, and there it was again in your thoughts.

I’ve heard this from visitors to my studio more than once. They connect with a piece, decide to think about it, then come back hoping it’s still here. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it has found its way to someone else’s home.

I understand wanting to take your time. Buying original art is a personal decision, and it needs to feel right for you. But when you keep picturing a particular piece on your wall or remembering how you felt standing in front of it, that’s worth paying attention to.

Art can bring something into a room that you didn’t even realise was missing. It might make you smile each morning, remind you of a place or a person, or simply give you a quiet moment in the middle of a busy day. That connection is hard to measure, but you know it when you feel it.

Because each original artwork is one of a kind, the piece you love won’t be there forever. If it fits your home and your budget, it’s okay to trust your instinct. You don’t need to have the perfect spot worked out before you take it home. Often, the right place reveals itself once the artwork is yours.

If you can’ decide… take them both

The artworks we remember are often the ones we connected with most. If you’re still thinking about one, perhaps it’s telling you something.
