Looking for things to do in Toowoomba this September? The Toowoomba Studio Art Trail 2026 is a wonderful opportunity to step inside the working studios of local artists, discover how original art is created and meet the people behind the work.
This year, 22 artists across 20 studios will open their doors to visitors, showcasing an exciting variety of art, techniques and creative spaces throughout Toowoomba.
Held during September, the Studio Art Trail is the perfect addition to a day exploring Toowoomba during one of the most beautiful times of the year.

There’s something very different about seeing art in the place where it was actually created.
A studio gives you a glimpse behind the finished artwork — the materials, experiments, works in progress and sometimes the happy accidents that are all part of the creative process.
Throughout the 2026 Toowoomba Studio Art Trail, visitors can meet local artists, learn about their techniques and discover an incredible variety of original artwork.
It’s also a wonderful opportunity to purchase art directly from the artist and perhaps find a special piece for your home.

And remember, the studio numbers are simply there to help you find us — you don’t have to visit the studios in numerical order.

Visit Me at Studio Fifty Three
I’m delighted to be participating again this year and opening the doors to Studio Fifty Three.
I’m Studio No. 20 on the Trail, but you can visit me at any point on your journey.
My practice centres around encaustic wax and mixed media, and visiting the studio gives you an opportunity to see these wonderfully tactile artworks up close.
Encaustic is an ancient technique using heated beeswax. Layering, fusing and working into the wax creates beautiful depth, texture and luminosity that can be difficult to appreciate fully in photographs.
While I won’t be demonstrating the process live, there will be a video playing in the studio showing how I work with encaustic wax, so you can see some of the fascinating process behind the finished pieces.
You’ll also find a selection of original artwork available to purchase.
