Dalmatian Bowl — Encaustic Wax & Mixed Media

$400.00

Dimensions: 24 cm (H) × 27 cm (W)

This one-of-a-kind Dalmatian Bowl is hand-sculpted in my Toowoomba studio using encaustic wax and mixed media, then carefully lined with green resin. The result is a striking, tactile surface with organic black and white markings that feel playful yet timeless. Functional as well as beautiful, the resin lining means you can style it as a feature art piece or use it practically, it ca be used as a vase or simply as a bold sculptural moment on your coffee table.

Because each bowl is individually created, no two will ever be the same. It’s an ideal choice for collectors who love original handmade art with a contemporary edge.

What is Encaustic Wax Painting?

Encaustic painting is an ancient art form that uses natural beeswax mixed with damar resin (a tree sap) and pigments to create beautifully layered, luminous artworks. Each layer of wax is painted on while warm and then fused with heat, giving the surface a gorgeous depth and a soft, tactile quality you can’t get with other mediums. Every piece is unique, with textures and details that shift and change as the light catches them.

How to Care for Your Encaustic Art

Encaustic wax is surprisingly durable – it’s been around since ancient Egypt, after all! Your piece won’t melt under normal home conditions, but it’s best to keep it away from direct sunlight, heaters, or extreme heat. Dust it gently with a soft cloth if needed, and over time, you may notice the surface developing a soft, natural sheen – this is perfectly normal and part of the charm of encaustic art. With just a little love, your artwork will last for generations.

Shipping for International Collectors

I’m delighted to send my artwork worldwide. Because each piece is unique and shipping costs vary depending on size, weight, and destination, international customers are encouraged to get in touch for the best shipping option and quote. This way, I can ensure your artwork is safely packaged and shipped at the most reliable and cost-effective rate for your location.
