Lunch time#1, #2, #3, #4
Lunch Time is a series of warm, uplifting encaustic wax and mixed-media artworks inspired by the simple joy found in nature’s tiny moments — a bright bloom, a visiting bee, and the soft, dreamy haziness of wax and pigment.
Created in my studio on the Toowoomba escarpment, this one-of-a-kind piece has beautiful depth and translucency that only encaustic wax can offer. The feature flowers glows from within, while the little bee adds a playful touch of life and movement. It’s the kind of artwork that instantly brings warmth to a room and sparks conversations.
Perfect for art lovers who appreciate natural textures, organic forms, and pieces that carry a gentle sense of wonder. Whether placed in an entryway, bedroom, kitchen or part of a gallery wall, this artwork offers a daily reminder to slow down and notice the tiny, beautiful things.
What is Encaustic Wax Painting?
Encaustic painting is an ancient art form that uses natural beeswax mixed with damar resin (a tree sap) and pigments to create beautifully layered, luminous artworks. Each layer of wax is painted on while warm and then fused with heat, giving the surface a gorgeous depth and a soft, tactile quality you can’t get with other mediums. Every piece is unique, with textures and details that shift and change as the light catches them.
How to Care for Your Encaustic Art
Encaustic wax is surprisingly durable – it’s been around since ancient Egypt, after all! Your piece won’t melt under normal home conditions, but it’s best to keep it away from direct sunlight, heaters, or extreme heat. Dust it gently with a soft cloth if needed, and over time, you may notice the surface developing a soft, natural sheen – this is perfectly normal and part of the charm of encaustic art. With just a little love, your artwork will last for generations.INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING INFO
