Encaustic Wax / Mixed Media Sculpture

Returning Home is a gentle, organic vessel that feels like it’s been shaped by time, story, and memory. Wrapped in creamy encaustic wax with softly textured surfaces and subtle embedded marks, this piece invites you to pause and look inward. The broken rim adds a sense of openness and vulnerability, while the warm, earthy interior creates a feeling of warmth — a quiet pull back to the comfort of “home,” however you define it. Three little bees hover at the opening, ready to return home.

This one-of-a-kind sculpture brings a calm, grounding presence to any space. It suits collectors who love tactile, nature-inspired objects and meaningful, handcrafted art that carries both softness and soul.

Perfect for a shelf, console, or curated vignette.

20cm x 15cm

What is Encaustic Wax Painting?

Encaustic painting is an ancient art form that uses natural beeswax mixed with damar resin (a tree sap) and pigments to create beautifully layered, luminous artworks. Each layer of wax is painted on while warm and then fused with heat, giving the surface a gorgeous depth and a soft, tactile quality you can’t get with other mediums. Every piece is unique, with textures and details that shift and change as the light catches them.

How to Care for Your Encaustic Art

Encaustic wax is surprisingly durable – it’s been around since ancient Egypt, after all! Your piece won’t melt under normal home conditions, but it’s best to keep it away from direct sunlight, heaters, or extreme heat. Dust it gently with a soft cloth if needed, and over time, you may notice the surface developing a soft, natural sheen – this is perfectly normal and part of the charm of encaustic art. With just a little love, your artwork will last for generations.

Shipping for International Collectors

I’m delighted to send my artwork to collectors all around the world. Because each piece is unique and shipping costs vary depending on size, weight, and destination, international customers are encouraged to get in touch for the best shipping option and quote. This way, I can ensure your artwork is safely packaged and shipped at the most reliable and cost-effective rate for your location.
